The Helper of the year this year went to Jenny Baxter. Jenny has helped at almost every competition. She is a great person to have around because of her friendly personality and good sense of humour and she is always willing to help no matter what the task or what the weather so thanks to Jenny for her continued support. A close second was Stacie Liston. We thought that Stacie deserved a mention too as she has also helped frequently and so we wanted to show our appreciation. Thanks to both Jenny and Stacie for all of their help over the last year.
The Achiever awards have a specific criteria. Committee members are not considered, the winner must have shown improvement through club training and/or competitions and also part of the criteria is that they must have shown some commitment to the club in the form of helping.
The Senior Achiever award this year went to Julie Robertson. Julie has shown continued improvement over the year and not only done well at Area level but also went on to be part of the winning teams at the Riding Club Championships. Julie is always good fun to have around and a good club supporter.
The Junior Achiever award this year went to Laura Pilbeam. Laura has worked really hard over the last year with her horse 'Yogi' and we have seen her make a lot of progress with both her flatwork and jumping through club training and competitions. She has also represented us at Area competitions and even took in all in her stride when her horse went lame while at the Area Horse Trials and she didn't get to do the fun bit! Laura went on to represent the club at the Riding Club Championships in Lincoln and was the highest placed Findon Junior in the Dressage and also part of the Open SJ Team that were placed 10th.
